Aug 19 - Steve Jobs "Be Hungry, Be Foolish"

Today is Wednesday, Aug 19, 2009.

Attended the KM Fair with title "The Secret Language of Leadership: How Leaders Inspire Actions Through Storytelling."

Moderator was Dr Saravanan.
Forum Panelist were Dr Murali (FOM), Furami Umar (ex-Motorola University), Izuzi Marlia Khalid (MIMOS, ex-FCM).

Dr Murali connected storytelling with attributes of Knowledgeable Leader. Furami Umar 's touching point was the story of a Taiyuan beggar girl whom he met in China. He dealt with the emotive effect of storytelling. Izuzi shared about Knowledge Management and Storytelling in MIMOS. What interested me most was that MIMOS had achieved Level 5 for CMMI. Seemingly, they used storytelling or process sharing to commnicate/

After the forum, I got Izuzi's email address. She mentioned that MIMOS had a usability lab.

Mmmm....that's great! May be I can borrow the usability lab or collaborate with MIMOS....for my PhD research...on Usability Evaluation Tool for Mobile Learning Applications. :)

There was a play of video clip whereby Steve Jobs gave a speech to Stanford graduates. He told 3 stories...basically related to his life. Good! Wonder if I could find it on YouTube.

Steve Jobs ended with these final words "Be Hungry, Be Foolish."

My interpretation...
Even with our graduation with a Masters degree, we should not feel we have Achieved, we should not feel contented. On the contrary, we should continue to BE HUNGRY for more knowledge, enhance our skills, enrich our experience.
We need to pretend to be "FOOLISH", having the attitude of Always Want To Learn. We need to be willing to UnLearn and ReLearn.
Learn, UnLearn, ReLearn...continually Learn....Lifelong Learning.
